If you’re the partner of a New Zealand citizen or resident, or the partner of a person who holds a valid work visa then there are a variety of visa categories that allow you to apply for a visa to work in New Zealand.

You and your partner must be of good character and plan to live together in New Zealand for the duration of the visa. Your partner, as your sponsor, must agree to support your application. They must also be eligible to support a partnership-based residence application at some stage in the future.

Other requirements of your application include providing evidence you're in good health, proof of your identity to the satisfaction of Immigration New Zealand, and that you intend to comply with the conditions of your visa.
